Hot take: the roommate who never does dishes is usually the same one who fills the sink with water and calls it soaking
My old roommate Marcus left a pot in standing water for 11 days in our Austin place because he swore soaking made it easier to clean, but by day 11 it smelled like a swamp and I just threw the pot away, so has anyone actually seen soaking work on anything, or is it just a way to feel like you did something?

Did you know soaking only works if the water is hot and you actually scrub within a few hours? I read somewhere that dish soap breaks down grease way faster in warm water, but after a day it just turns into a gross science experiment. Honestly Marcus was just using it as an excuse to not touch the pot for a week and a half.
