PSA: Check your DVD's runtime against the box before movie night

Picked up a 3-movie pack at a flea market in Tulsa last Saturday and the back said 90 minutes, but the disc ran 68 and cut off mid scene. Saved the night by pulling up the full movie on my laptop for the last 20 minutes, so now I time each disc before anyone shows up. What's your go to backup plan when a bargain bin disc craps out?
