Chose "The Room" over "Troll 2" for my buddy's 30th and I think I made the wrong call

Last Friday my friend Dave turned 30 and I had to pick the movie for our group of six in my basement in Boise. I went with The Room because I'd heard the spoons story and figured it would get the biggest reaction. It went okay, but the football scene in Troll 2 is what this crowd really needed and now Dave won't quit joking about my bad pick. Has anyone run both of these back to back and can tell me which one plays better with a crowd actually?
