Serious question, did you know the average desk has 12 cables hiding behind it and only 3 get used daily?
I saw that number on a cleaning blog last week while hunting for tips, and now I keep staring at the 14 cords crammed behind my desk in Denver wondering which ones are just dead weight. It made me realize most of my mess is from things I never unplug, like an old printer from 2019 and two mystery chargers that go to nothing. So what's your cut off, do you yank everything out and start fresh or just shove the pile back behind the monitor and hope for the best?
Man, I feel this in my soul. I've got a power strip back there with like six things plugged in and I honestly could not tell you what half of them even go to anymore. Last time I actually crawled under there I found a charger for a phone I traded in two years ago and a USB cable for a camera I sold on Craigslist. My move is usually just unplug the whole strip, plug back in what I actually recognize, and let the rest sit in a ziploc bag in a drawer for another year. Have you actually pulled yours out yet or are you still in the staring phase like me?
