Visited a little farm supply store in Ohio and saw the coolest chicken tractor setup

I was driving through Lancaster, Ohio last weekend and stopped at this tiny farm store I'd never been to before. They had a chicken tractor built out of old pallets and PVC pipe, and the guy running the place showed me how he moves it every 3 days to fresh grass. It was so simple but sturdy, and his hens looked super happy scratching around in there. Has anyone else tried building one of those mobile coops with recycled materials?

That PVC and pallet build is smart. I'd add a piece of hardware cloth under the pallet slats though. Raccoons will reach right through the gaps and grab legs. Saw it happen to a buddy's setup in one night. Lost three hens.

Built mine from scrap lumber and an old tarp, still going strong three years later. Biggest thing is making sure the frame is light enough to drag solo but solid enough to keep raccoons out. I cut a little door in the bottom so the hens can free range inside it without me having to move it every time.
