So my Rhode Island Red decided to roost on the gutter last night

I heard a crash around 2 AM and found her on the ground, so I had to do a quick check for injuries and set up a temporary crate in the garage. Has anyone else had a hen take a bad fall and how did you handle it?

My neighbor's hen fell off their deck and was fine after a day of rest.

Chickens are basically tiny dinosaurs with feathers. Their bodies are built to handle a surprising amount of impact. A short fall onto grass probably just rattled her a bit. It's good she took it easy for a day to shake it off. They're a lot tougher than they look.
