Finally picked the metal waterer over plastic and it survived a 22 degree night
Lost two plastic ones to cracks last winter in Minneapolis so I switched to the galvanized kind in October. Anyone else notice the metal ones are way harder to knock over when the hens get rowdy?

Funny how the cheap stuff always ends up costing more in the long run, same thing happened with my garden hose reel and a pair of boots. Metal just holds up better when things get rough, whether it is a cold snap or a bunch of hens pushing it around. Spend a bit more up front and you skip the whole mess of replacing it every year.
