Vent: I finally ditched the crimp tool for custom harness plugs and I'm not going back
I used to swear by my old Daniels crimper for every single D-sub pin, spent 3 years doing it that way on the bench at our hangar in Wichita. Last spring I switched to pre-made pigtail harnesses from a supplier for the GPS installs and cut my build time from about 4 hours to 90 minutes per rack. Yeah, the purists at my shop say you lose the 'craft' of it, but the continuity checks come back clean every time and I've had zero returns in 40 installs. Anyone else made the switch or am I the only one here who thinks the old crimp-and-pray days are done?
