Finally traced a phantom static in a G1000 audio panel to a corroded pin in a connector under the copilot's seat after 3 days of chasing it.

What's your go-to method for tracking down intermittent audio faults that don't show up on a bench test?

Right? I spent a whole weekend chasing a crackle that only happened on a specific frequency. Ended up being a barely bent pin inside the audio panel harness, looked fine till you wiggled the connector just right. Now I always start by checking the connector pins and backshells before even grabbing a scope, saves so much headache lol.

Used to just swap boxes, but now I start with the connectors lol.
