TIL a car shipping broker I called in Dallas quoted me $1,400 but the actual trucker got $800 of that
Found this out from a dispatcher in Fort Worth who showed me the rate sheet, and now I can't decide if brokers earn their cut for finding drivers and handling paperwork or if we should all just book straight with carriers and cut out the middleman, so what's your take?

That $600 gap is the broker covering their butt when the driver bails, damages the car, or the pickup window shifts and nobody tells you. Book direct and you own every one of those headaches yourself with zero backup.
