Vent: I'm convinced rebuilding carbs is a waste of time now
Fuel injection is so reliable that carburetors just aren't worth the hassle anymore, but old-timers swear by them. Am I wrong to skip carb jobs entirely?

Wasn't there a study a few years back that showed ethanol in modern gas just destroys old carb parts? I read that the seals and gaskets dry out and crack super fast now. So you rebuild it and it's junk again in a year or two. That's why it feels like a waste of time. Fuel injection doesn't have those same problems with today's fuel.
