Rant: People keep greasing sled skis wrong on the Polaris AXYS chassis
I see guys at the trailhead slapping grease on ski rubbers every weekend. But they put it between the ski and the spindle. That does nothing. The wear is on the saddle inside the rubber where it contacts the ski, down by the wear bar holes. Grease that spot once a season and your steering effort drops way off. Has anyone else noticed this or am I the only one paying attention to where the actual friction is?

Hard disagree man. I grease between the ski and spindle every season and my sled turns like a dream. You're sitting there overthinking a wear bar hole when the actual binding point is that spindle bushing seizing up. I've got buddies who never touch the saddle and they can still flick their sleds around just fine. Plus, putting grease down by the wear bar holes just collects trail grit and turns into a paste that grinds everything down faster. Keep it simple, grease the part that actually moves.

Man, I feel you on this one... it's like people just see a spot that looks like it should get greased and go for it without thinking. Jade, I hear what you're saying about the spindle bushing but I've had the exact opposite experience - last season I greased the saddle area on my '16 and the steering got so light I actually checked to make sure nothing was loose. Seen too many guys with greasy spindles and still complaining about heavy bars on long rides... drives me nuts watching them miss the real friction spot.
