Last week I got 47 minutes of perfect sky and wasted most of it
I finally caught a clear night in Portland after three weeks of clouds, set up my 8 inch dob, and then spent 25 minutes fiddling with my finder scope because I forgot to align it indoors. By the time I got Jupiter framed, the seeing went soft. Anyone else burn their best window on gear checks before the target even clears the trees?

Quit acting like you wasted a kidney, man. 25 minutes of fiddling is basically the hobby, we all do it. You still got Jupiter, so that's a win even if it looked like a soggy cotton ball.
