I finally checked my camera sensor after six years of astro shots

Pulled up a flat frame last night and saw a dust donut the size of Jupiter right in the middle of every single nebula photo I've taken since 2018, and I'm kicking myself for not cleaning it sooner, anyone else ever ignore sensor dust for way too long?

Saw a YouTube video about this exact issue last week. @the_zara, your story is relatable.

Oh man, that's brutal! I did the exact same thing with my old DSLR a few years back but with a twist. I spent like three months wondering why every landscape shot had this weird fuzzy spot in the sky, and I kept thinking it was a smudge on my lens or something. Turned out it was a massive dust bunny on the sensor I completely ignored because I was too lazy to clean it properly. Honestly, I just ended up fixing it in post for most of my old photos rather than admitting I needed to actually clean the thing.
