Vent: I thought the 'ask anything' idea was just a gimmick until I tried it for real

So I was helping my friend set up a small online store for her pottery. She kept asking me basic questions about shipping and taxes, stuff I didn't know. I saw this community and figured, why not. I posted asking how to handle sales tax for online sales in different states. I expected maybe one vague answer. Instead, a guy from Arizona who runs a similar shop gave me a full step-by-step guide in 20 minutes. He even linked the exact state websites to register. It was free, specific help I would have paid for. Totally changed my view. I was wrong to think it was just people messing around. Has anyone else had a moment where asking a simple question here solved a big problem for you?

My cousin tried to sell vintage t-shirts online and got a tax notice that scared her. She almost quit the whole thing. A post in a different forum explained how to fix the paperwork for free. It was just some person who had the same panic last year. Those random tips from people who already messed up are the best help you can get.
