Hit 100 consecutive days of asking one question a day - here is what shifted for me at the coffee shop

I started a simple thing back in March where I ask one random question to a stranger every day. It felt forced at first but yesterday I hit day 100. The shift happened three weeks ago at a coffee shop on Main Street when I asked a barista what she actually thinks about when she's pulling shots. She gave me a 10 minute answer about the rhythm of the machine and now I listen way more than I talk. It changed how I think about small talk because people open up when you ask something real. Has anyone else noticed that asking better questions makes your whole day feel different?

Jumped right in on that too myself, @taylor929 is spot-on because I spent months just asking weather questions before I figured out real ones matter. Bought a stranger at the bus stop a coffee last week just to ask what they'd change if they ran the city for a day, and we ended up talking for 45 minutes about potholes and traffic lights. You're right that listening more than talking is the real trick, makes everything feel less like a chore and more like a story.
