I thought the 'lost city' in the Amazon was just hype until I saw the lidar maps
When those stories about a huge ancient settlement in Bolivia started popping up, I figured it was another overblown media thing. Then a professor at my local college showed me the raw lidar data from the Llanos de Mojos region. The images clearly showed raised platforms, canals, and huge geometric shapes under the forest canopy that you can't explain naturally. It completely flipped my view from total skeptic to believer in about ten minutes. Has anyone else had a find they doubted until they saw the hard evidence?

That lidar data from Bolivia is wild. Did the professor mention how big the biggest geometric shape was, like in square miles or something? I saw a documentary about lidar in Cambodia and they found whole city blocks under the jungle. Makes you wonder what else is out there we're just walking over.

What did they find under the city blocks?
