The pine stump that wouldn't die

Had this huge old white pine stump in a yard in Augusta, been grinding it for years and it kept sending up suckers. My boss said to just keep cutting them, but I was sick of the callbacks. Last fall, I drilled a dozen half-inch holes deep into the heartwood and poured in a cup of undiluted glyphosate. This spring? Nothing. Not a single shoot. It's the first time I've seen that trick work on a conifer that big. Anyone have a different chemical that works on stubborn spruce or fir?

Wait, they're still doing callbacks after the third round? That's insane. My last one had five separate interviews before they ghosted.
