Vent: that one landlord who handed me a live wire taught me to check everything twice

Last Thursday in Austin, a guy insisted his disposal was fine and shoved the cord at me, it was still plugged in and I got a nasty zap before he said oh yeah that might be hot, has anyone else had a client try to hand you something dangerous like that?
