Just realized a $4 tire pressure gauge saved a customer $300 on a fridge
Had a fridge that kept icing up and after three service calls swapping out parts, I finally stuck a cheap tire gauge on the defrost drain line and found it was clogged with a tiny bit of debris that no amount of snaking would clear, so I cleared it with a shot of compressed air and it's been running fine for two months now, anyone else carry oddball tools that end up being the real fix?
The $4 tire pressure gauge saving a $300 fridge fix is my kind of story, mostly because I once bought a $12 inspection camera to look inside a wall and ended up using it way more on drain lines and ductwork than I ever did on walls. Meanwhile my actual pressure gauge sits in the truck and gets used maybe twice a year. Makes you wonder why we haul around half the fancy stuff we do when a cheap little tool keeps saving the day.
