Tried a CRT monitor for retro gaming vs my LCD. Night and day difference.

Last week I hooked up a Sony Trinitron I found on Craigslist for $15. My old LCD screen had all this lag on my SNES. Mario felt like he was moving through mud. Switched to the CRT and suddenly my jumps were crisp. No input delay at all. Now I get why people hunt these things down. Anyone else notice a big difference with certain games?

People make it sound like a bigger deal than it really is for most games.

Did you ever have a friend who spent an hour setting up a perfect game photo mode shot?

And here I thought my "pro-gamer" reflexes were just getting rusty with age (turns out I'm just fine, the LCD was the actual problem). I didn't realize how much input lag was messing with me until I tried Mega Man on the Trinitron. I'd always blame myself for missing jumps, but nope, it was the screen secretly ruining my childhood memories. My LCD makes me feel like I'm playing through a strobe light in slow motion, which is probably why I suck at fighting games on modern TVs too.
