Tried watching a mecha anime while keeping track of every pilot's name and mech model on a spreadsheet
After 12 episodes of Gundam I had 83 rows of data and realized I spent more time updating the spreadsheet than actually watching the show, so has anyone else turned a chill hobby into a full-time job by accident?

I capped my notes at 15 rows then never looked at the spreadsheet again.

Pretty much the second you hit "83 rows of data" you crossed the line from fan to data entry specialist. I learned this the hard way with a space sim where I started a pilot log and ended up with a full supply chain spreadsheet. Best move is to cap yourself at one notebook page per season and ban yourself from any digital tools that let you sort and filter.

Wait, you actually kept up a full supply chain spreadsheet for a space sim? That's wild, I would have lost my mind after like the third shipment of virtual cargo. Eighty three rows feels like you were practically running a small business out of your living room. I guess I'm not surprised though, once you start tracking fuel efficiency in a video game it's a slippery slope.
