Had a chat with my nephew about Naruto last weekend and it made me rethink the whole series

He brought up how Sasuke's redemption arc actually mirrors a lot of real life toxic friendships and now I cant watch those old episodes the same way anybody else get blindsided by a kids take like that?

Yo wait that's actually a solid point. I used to hate on Sasuke so hard back in the day, thought he was just being a brat for no reason. But your nephew might be onto something. Looking back, I had a friend in high school who was kind of like that, always pushing people away and making bad choices cause they were hurt. Never connected it to Naruto until now. Kinda makes me wanna rewatch with fresh eyes.

Feel you man, that hit close to home for me too. I had a cousin who went through something similar after a bad breakup and he acted just like Sasuke for like a whole year, pushing everyone away and making dumb choices. Makes you realize the series was actually pretty real about how trauma messes with people, not just some edgy anime trope.
