Dubbed vs subbed debate flipped for me after watching 12 shows last season

I used to be hardcore sub-only, swore dubs were for casuals. Then I binged 12 shows last season and realized I was missing half the action because I kept reading subtitles instead of watching the fight scenes. Now I watch dub first and switch to sub only if the voice acting is trash, but am I actually losing the 'authentic' experience or just being lazy here?
