My 35mm tank reel had a twist I never noticed for a year
I was loading film in the dark for like the 50th time and kept fighting the reel, then realized I had the two flanges backwards the entire time. The little ball bearings were facing inward instead of outward, which made every roll pinch and bind. How do you load yours, spiral in from the outside or snake it through the middle?

Wait, the ball bearings can face the wrong way?? I have been loading mine for probably two years now and it never once crossed my mind that the flanges even had a right and wrong side. So you are telling me the whole time I thought I was just bad at loading in the dark, it could have been my own reel sabotaging me? That would drive me insane because you literally cannot see anything while you are doing it, so you would never know until someone points it out. I always feed mine in from the outside and spiral it toward the middle, but now I am second guessing if I even have mine put together right. I am going to check my reel the second I get home because this just blew my mind.
