Shoutout to the old guy at the Portland swap meet who saved my roll of Tri-X
Was at the monthly film swap meet at the Portland Expo Center last month and some guy named Gary saw me loading film on a bench. He stopped and told me I was running the leader too far into the take-up spool. Sure enough, I would have wasted 3 frames on that roll. Has anyone else had a random stranger fix a bad habit you didn't even know you had?

Did you catch that little trick where you can pinch the film edges to make it seat better in the spool? I read about it in an old photo forum and it saved me from wasting film more than once.
