Lost 12 rolls of airport x-ray film in Barcelona last month
Went through the CT scanner at El Prat with 2 extra-strength bags of Portra 400, all 12 rolls came back fogged and useless. Has anyone else had a whole travel set ruined by the new scanners, or did I just get unlucky with the dose?

Oh, so now we're supposed to just bake our film before we even shoot it? That's wild. I had a roll of Tri-X get absolutely fried at a security checkpoint in Lisbon last year, but it was just one roll and I wrote it off as bad luck. But 12 rolls of Portra 400, that's like losing a small child emotionally and financially at the same time. That scanner probably saw those film cans and thought, "Yep, let me just zap these into a modern art piece." I'd check with the airport, they might have a form for "irradiated nostalgia" or something. Honestly, at this point I think the real travel tip is to just mail your film ahead and pray the postal service is less radioactive than the security line.
