Changed my mind about shooting black and white film after a rainy day at the state park

I used to think black and white was boring, but last Saturday at Letchworth State Park, the fog made everything look like a moody painting. I had some Tri-X in my Canon and the shots came out way better than my color ones. Anyone else find certain weather makes black and white the only choice?

Agree with you about the fog. I was out last winter in some thick mist down by the river and thought I'd wasted a roll of HP5. Turned out those shots had this soft, dreamy look my color shots just couldn't touch. The grain seemed to add texture to the air itself, which sounds weird but it worked. Definitely keep a roll of black and white loaded when the weather gets moody, your mileage may vary but it's never let me down.
