Pro tip: magnetic reed switch trick for metal door frames

Kept getting false alarms on a corrugated steel storefront in Tulsa, the standard surface mount reed switch kept losing contact from vibration. I tried recessed mounts and thicker spacers, but what finally worked was epoxying a small neodymium magnet to the back of the reed switch housing to pull the internal contacts tighter. Anyone else run into this on metal frames, or do you just bite the bullet and use a different sensor type?
