Old school keypads at a retirement home, brought me back

Ran a service call at a retirement complex in Des Moines yesterday and they still have the old hardwired keypads with the red digital readout, the ones we used to install back in the 90s. The panel was a mess though, foil tape on the contacts and a door sensor held in with double sided tape, not the clean work we did back then. You ever run into systems that old and just leave them alone or do you push for an upgrade?
