My mentor swore by tap tests for composites, I called it theater until last week.

I thought tap checks were overkill until I spotted a delamination everyone missed, so do you rely on them or skip?

Calling it theater is fair, I just skip them on newer materials. The bonded stuff we use now doesn't really give useful feedback from a tap. I trust the data from the scanner more.
