I thought the new composite patch kits were just overpriced hype
We had a small crack in a fairing on a Cessna 172 at our shop. The owner wanted it fixed fast and cheap. I was ready to just glass it over, but my lead handed me one of those pre-made composite repair kits. It was about $180, which felt like a lot for a small job. We followed the instructions exactly, and the patch cured in under an hour with zero bubbles. It's been six months and the repair looks factory new, no signs of stress. Has anyone else been surprised by how well these new prepreg materials actually work?

That $180 kit probably saved you three hours of sanding and swearing.

Man, you're not wrong. Some tools are just worth the money to avoid the pain.
