Stopped by that new food truck park on 5th and saw something funny

Every single truck had at least one air fryer item on their menu, from fries to wings. The 'Austin Crispy Chicken' truck even had a whole section called 'Air Fried Only' with five different things. I guess it's not just a home kitchen thing anymore. Has anyone tried making a copycat version of a restaurant's air fryer dish?

That part about it not being just a home kitchen thing is SO true. My brother tried to copy the air fryer cauliflower bites from a pub downtown and it was a total mess. He used way too much oil spray and the batter just slid right off, it was a soggy disaster. He still gets teased about it. I feel like those restaurant ones must have some special coating or they par-cook stuff first.

Special coating" is probably just a deep fryer. The batter needs that instant heat to set before it slides off. Your brother basically made oily cauliflower soup.
