PSA: Saw a demo cart at the Austin airport scanning faces and guessing flight info
Was walking through the Austin airport security line on Tuesday and saw a kiosk that uses face scan to pull up your flight and gate in about 2 seconds. The sign said it was a trial with 3 airlines and they are pushing it like it saves time. I get the convenience but nobody around me seemed to notice there was no sign about where that face data goes or how long it is kept. Has anyone else run into these at other airports and found any real info on the opt out?
Whoa, that's wild that they didn't post anything about where the data goes. Did you ask anyone working there about the opt out or get pointed to a website or something?
