Debate: Does an AI art piece count if you barely changed the prompt?
I spent a week making this landscape with Stable Diffusion. I wrote like 30 different prompts, tweaked settings, and still felt like I was just picking from what the AI handed me. A buddy of mine on Discord keeps saying "real AI art" means you need heavy img2img or inpainting work, not just prompt luck. Then I saw someone else post a near identical image just by typing "mountain lake sunset" once. So is it still my art if I didn't really do much beyond choosing? Where do you guys draw the line on effort versus outcome?

My friend spent like 2 hrs messing with prompts and got this really cool cyberpunk street scene. Then his roommate typed "neon city rain" and got basically the same thing on the first try. He was so mad he deleted the whole folder lol.

Yeah that's rough lol. I had something similar happen with my own stuff. I spent like an hour tweaking "abandoned warehouse neon glow" and got something decent but kind of meh. Then I just typed "derelict cyberpunk alley at midnight" on a whim and it was way better. Honestly sometimes the simplest stuff just works better than all the fancy prompt engineering people try to do. I think there's something to just letting the AI do its thing instead of overthinking it.
