Took a shortcut through an old paper mill outside Akron last month, thought I knew what to expect
I've been in a dozen abandoned factories, so when I saw the mill I figured it was just more rust and pigeon poop. Walked into this one room and there's still a full office setup from 1987 - coffee mug on the desk, calendar stuck on October, even a half-eaten bag of chips. The dust was so thick on everything it looked like someone hit pause on the place 35 years ago. Has anyone else stumbled into a time capsule like that where the vibe just felt too real?

Julia asking the real questions, haha. Honestly though, that half-eaten bag of chips is the creepiest part for me. It's not just that it's old, it's that someone was literally in the middle of living their life and just... walked away. I mean, think about it. That person probably left for lunch or went home for the weekend and never came back to grab their chips or their coffee mug. The calendar being stuck on October makes me think it was a Friday afternoon and they just never clocked in on Monday. That kind of pause gives me a chill way more than any rusted machinery ever could. It's like a little snapshot of someone's ordinary Tuesday that got frozen in time.
