When I was new, getting heavy equipment to a far-off site was a big job all on its own.

Question if planning every single mile is really needed for a local job. Thomas_dixon53 makes sense for a cross country trip, but most sites aren't that far. Seems like overkill for a regular haul.

Sketch the whole journey before leaving... Did that for a cross country drive and it saved hours. Really cuts down on stress too.
