The simple forum post that took me a full morning to write

I needed to make a post here about a new project, but I got stuck trying to explain it clearly. I rewrote the first paragraph maybe ten times, trying to get the tone right and not sound too formal. What I thought would take twenty minutes ended up taking almost three hours, just to get a few sentences I was happy with. Does anyone else get stuck in the writing and rewriting loop on simple posts?

That "writing and rewriting loop" is so real. I once spent an hour trying to describe a broken toaster in a buy-nothing group, trying not to sound like a weirdo. It's crazy how the simplest words can get stuck in your head.

God yes. I wrote three whole drafts for a text asking my neighbor if I could borrow a ladder. A ladder. It's a metal thing with steps. My brain kept getting stuck on "hey would you mind if I" vs "any chance I could" like it was some big legal document.

Totally get this! I notice my brain does the same thing with simple texts now, overthinking every word choice. Feels like we're all stuck in edit mode for normal life stuff.
