My LED strip fell off mid-stream and nearly took out my whole desk

I was in the middle of a late night Warzone session in my apartment near Chicago when my cheap LED strip just peeled off the back of my monitor and landed right on my keyboard. The adhesive gave out after about 8 months and it swung down, catching my mouse cord and knocking over my drink. I had to rip everything off the desk to dry it out and spent the next day scraping old glue off with rubbing alcohol. Has anyone else had luck with a specific brand of adhesive strips that actually holds up longer than a year?

Oh man, I used to roll my eyes at people complaining about LED strip adhesives. I figured they were just slapping them on dirty surfaces or something. Then my own strip took a nosedive right into my coffee mug at 2am while I was trying to clutch a win in Apex. I had to fish wet sticky plastic out of my morning brew the next day. That experience made me realize those cheap strips really are garbage. I switched to a brand called Govee that uses actual 3M tape and it's been stuck solid for over a year now through Chicago humidity and all.

Honestly thats exactly how I felt too. I used to think people were just being dramatic about those cheap strips. Till mine fell off and landed right on my cat while she was sleeping. She woke up yowling with this sticky strip stuck to her back and I had to chase her around the apartment to peel it off. Now I always tell people to just spend the extra few bucks on something with real 3M tape. @charlie_fisher45 that Apex coffee mug story is brutal though. At least you didn't traumatize a pet.
