My accountant friend pointed out I was basically working for free on small jobs

She said I was spending 4 hours on a $150 gig after travel and materials, which is less than minimum wage here in Tacoma. Now I have a flat 2 hour minimum charge no matter what, and it's saved my business. Anyone else have a simple rule that fixed their pricing?

Oh man, that is so smart. I had the same wake-up call when I tracked my time on a "quick" website fix. Setting a project minimum fee, even for tiny jobs, changed everything for me. It filters out the clients who drain your time.
