Rant: My wall patch job failed because I skipped a step
I see a lot of people rush through fixing cracks without sanding first. When I did that, my filler cracked in a week and I had to start over.

Ever try painting over glossy trim without sanding? I did that once and the paint peeled right off in sheets, had to scrape the whole thing. Some surfaces just won't hold without the rough-up first.

What kind of filler did you use, and how clean was the crack before you filled it? Sometimes if there's any dust or loose stuff left in there, even if you sand, it won't stick right. Wondering if the surface prep was totally done or if the product itself was wrong for a deep fix.
