I saw a user on a popular investing forum pushing a small tech stock hard, saying it was a sure thing. I put in $400 without doing my own research, and the price dropped 60% in a week. On one hand, forums are great for sharing ideas, but on the other, you can't trust every random tip. How do you guys sort the good advice from the bad on these sites?

Forums are where you find the real gems before they blow up. @fiona502 is right it's a small loss, but that's the cost of learning. You gotta trust the process and the people who dig deep.
