Just realized a $30 3D printed pistol prop from my friend's printer looked way more real on camera than the $200 rubber one from the prop house.

Ever think the prop house stuff is made to feel fake on purpose? Like they need it to be obviously rubber for safety on a busy set. Your buddy's print just has to look good for one shot.
