Man, I gotta disagree on that one. Sharp post tops look way cleaner and more finished to me, like real craftsmanship. Rounded ones just seem kind of soft and, I don't know, factory made. That homeowner in Boise is entitled to their opinion, but I wouldn't change my whole process over one comment.
