Wasted $120 on a hydrafacial machine from Facebook marketplace
I bought this portable hydrafacial wand off a lady in Austin for $120 and it worked for like two sessions before the suction died completely. Turns out she sold me a knockoff that uses those cheap aquarium pumps. Anyone else get burned buying used equipment online?

Yeah, that "aquarium pump" thing is common with those cheap knockoffs. Try checking the tubing for clogs or a loose connection first, sometimes you can get a bit more life out of it with a simple fix.

Wait, @price.alice are you seriously telling me those cheap pumps actually use aquarium parts?! I had no idea that was a thing, I just assumed they were all sealed units these days. That's wild honestly, like who thought that was a good idea to cheap out on? But hey, if that's the case then a clog check makes total sense because those little impellers get gunked up so fast. I've seen a few videos where people just blast them out with water and they run like new again, which is crazy for how cheap they are. Still, makes me wonder what other hidden surprises are in those budget units nobody talks about.
