TIL that ultrasonic cleaners aren't just a gimmick for watchmakers

I always thought they were a niche tool for jewelry, but after cleaning a crusty laptop fan assembly in my iSonic P4820 for 8 minutes, it came out looking brand new. The amount of caked dust and grime that just fell away convinced me. Has anyone else found a surprising use for one in a repair shop?

My old shop teacher swore by his for cleaning carburetor parts, said it saved hours. I just always figured it was overkill for most things. That laptop fan story is pretty convincing though, maybe I should look into one for my own bench. Still seems like a big investment for something I'd only pull out a few times a year.

You'd be surprised how often it solves a weird, sticky problem.
