Took some ribbing for my thorough neutral checks, but it solved a tough problem today.

Honestly used to think that kind of thing was overkill, just slowing everything down for no reason. Watched a pilot do a full walk-around and checklist for a tiny plane once and thought it was silly... until he pointed out a fuel leak I'd walked right past. That boring routine stuff is the whole reason things work. Changed how I see every job now.

Yeah, thorough checks get mocked until they save the day. Reminds me of a buddy who always double checked the torque on his lug nuts. We'd give him grief for taking forever. Last month, that habit caught a cracked wheel stud before his whole wheel decided to take a vacation on the highway. Sometimes the boring routine stuff is what keeps everything together.

Totally get the "boring routine stuff" keeping things together. My friend's a mechanic and his whole "tap the brake lines with a wrench" thing seemed weird until he found one swollen and ready to burst on a customer's car. Makes you think twice about skipping steps, right?
