TIL a trick for fishing wires through a tight stud bay
This older guy at the supply house in Tacoma saw me buying a bunch of glow rods and said 'Kid, just tape a plastic bag to the end of your wire and use a shop vac on the other side, pulls it right through.' I tried it on a tricky kitchen remodel last month and it saved me maybe 20 minutes of fighting with a drop. Anyone else got a weird little trick like that for tight spots?

Yeah the magnet chain idea @sean_murray mentioned is smart. I've used that but with a steel fishing weight tied to some string, same basic idea. Works way better than trying to poke a rod around blind.

That bag trick is a lifesaver. I had a similar one with a chain of small neodymium magnets for pulling low voltage wire through finished walls. You can feed one magnet on a string down from the attic and use the other to guide it from the wall plate below.
