Watched a guy in an action movie reload his shotgun by just flipping it upside down

I remember being a kid in the 90s sitting in my uncle's basement in Chicago watching some straight-to-video action flick. The hero runs out of shells, flips the shotgun completely upside down, and somehow fresh rounds just fall right in. I tried that with my dad's old 870 out in the backyard the next day and spent 20 minutes picking buckshot out of the gravel. Has anyone else ever actually tested a movie trick like that and had it blow up in your face?

Man people get way too worked up about stuff like this, it's just a movie. Sure it's not realistic but neither is jumping out of an exploding helicopter and walking it off.

Just started turning my brain off for action flicks and it made everything way better. Once you stop expecting realism from movies like this, you actually enjoy the ride more. Why not just let the explosions be fun and move on?
