Spent $80 on a fancy charging cable that broke in 3 weeks
Tbh I thought paying more meant better quality, but this braided cable from a big brand just stopped working after 21 days. It was supposed to handle 100W fast charging and everything, but now my laptop won't even recognize it. Ngl I shoulda just bought three $10 ones from Amazon instead. Has anyone else had a premium cable die on them way too fast?

Take a breath, it's just a charging cable. We've all been burned by overpriced tech but losing your mind over $80 isn't worth the stress. The real issue is we expect premium prices to equal premium durability, and that's just not how most companies work these days. You got unlucky, plain and simple. Just return it if you can, get a refund, and move on with a normal cable that does the job fine.

Right? "Premium prices equal premium durability" is the biggest scam we fell for. I bought a $70 "braided" cable once that frayed in two months, while a random $8 one from a gas station has lasted me three years. The truth is, these expensive cables are basically a lottery ticket, you might get lucky or you might get a dud. My advice is skip the pricey ones and go with whatever Amazon Basics or Anker has on sale. That way when it breaks in six months, you're not crying over $80, you're just ordering another $10 one and moving on.
